We are excited to invite you to our second Forgiveness Café, a new online gathering that offers a unique opportunity for compassionate conversations around the application of forgiveness in our everyday relationships.
“I am so grateful to have had a short time in this group. Forgiveness to me is a conscious decision to add peace to the world, even when some instincts might ask us to be angry and vengeful.” - Perla Carlota Hatch, Forgiveness Café Participant
The Forgiveness Café is facilitated by our storytellers and colleagues. It is a chance to explore the different dilemmas and possibilities of forgiveness in large group spaces, as well as in guided smaller breakout groups, that allow for a deeper, more personal exploration.
In the video at the top you can watch Sandra Barefoot, our Executive Director, in discussion with Dr. Masi Noor, Senior Lecturer in Social and Political Psychology at Keele University, England, and Dr. Owen Abbott, Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Cardiff, Wales. In the clip they discuss and share their personal reflections on the power and benefit of the Café as a site for brave conversations around forgiveness.
“[Forgiveness is] far from being a rare virtue or an extraordinary undertaking, forgiveness is ‘woven into the fabric of human existence’, primarily because forgiveness is an ordinary and integral feature of how personal relationships are maintained and repaired.” - Dr. Owen Abbott

Quote of the week
“I’ve found that in order to forgive someone you have to pass a judgement on them in the first place. And I question that.” - Susie Lomax
