2025 promises to be an exciting year for us here at The Forgiveness Project: Following our 20th Anniversary, we have been discussing how best to expand our creative network, develop new working methodologies, and reach new audiences, and we are delighted that Jacob Dunne will be joining the team for this venture.
“We’re a community of courageous people who try to be vulnerable and champion the value of exploring forgiveness and healing…It’s going to be a hopeful place.” - Jacob Dunne
Jacob was first introduced to our work in 2014, through fellow storyteller and dear friend Shad Ali. He then joined our RESTORE prison programme as a key facilitator and has since worked alongside our team in delivering our various events, from our Annual Lecture to our online exploration into self-forgiveness.

In his own work, Jacob’s BBC Radio 4 series, The Punch, won the ARIA Award for Best Factual Series in 2021. His memoir, Right from Wrong, is an account of his life, through which he furthers his message for restorative practices as a response to violence and division.
Recently, his book was adapted into Punch, a play created by award-winning playwright James Graham who, last year, won the Longford Trust's Kevin Pakenham prize as a marker of the success of the production. After an immensely successful run at Nottingham Playhouse, Punch is preparing to open at the Young Vic Theatre in London in March of this year. You can read more about Jacob’s work here.
It is due to James’s generous donation of the prize money that we are able to fund this collaboration with Jacob. With him, we’re incredibly excited to be exploring ways of reaching new audiences and engaging in a range of creative online and in-person methodologies: Keep an eye on our newsletter and social media channels for more updates!
