Introducing our New Book Club Resource

NEW: Free book club resource to explore forgiveness

In 2004, Marina Cantacuzino founded The Forgiveness Project, with the mission of exploring forgiveness through real stories. Our organisation‘s work with restorative narratives has had a profound impact on how forgiveness is perceived and discussed. In her book ‘Forgiveness: An Exploration’, Marina continues this work, seeking to unpick, investigate, and debate what it means to forgive, with personal stories at its core.

Why choose this book for your book club?

Since its publication in 2022, The Forgiveness Project team and many followers have had a multitude of spirited and illuminating discussions about Marina’s book. We now want to recommend it as a powerful non-fiction title for discussion in book clubs around the world.

“I'd recommend this book to everyone. [...] I liked that the author doesn't try to force you into any perspective and instead just showcases other stories which led to extensive moments of reflection. I will be thinking about this book a lot (like I have for the past month and a half that took for me to read it) and it has sparked interesting conversations when I tell people the book I am reading, and end up reading them a few quotes I saved of the book.” — Amazon Review

Renowned as a speaker and performer, Gill is also the founder of The Fragile Project, which challenges conventional ideas of resilience by promoting adaptability within a fragile world. Awarded and recognised with doctorates from London Metropolitan, Kingston, and the University of South Australia, an MBE and AM, Gill champions critical thinking and works to counter violent extremism. Her journey is further detailed in her memoir One Unknown, a testament to the strength of the human spirit in the face of sudden, life-altering change.

Still Alive (and Kicking) features internationally acclaimed musicians including Dr Julian Ferraretto on violin, framing Hicks’ soulful jazz voice and her powerful projected artworks, leaving audiences spellbound by the visual and sensory feast. Quote of the week

“Hate holds on to you whereas forgiveness frees you, and if you want to forgive others, then first you need to learn to forgive yourself.” — Hashim Garrett

If you were to rewrite Hashim’s quote in your own words, what would it say?
